Clare Luisa White is a highly experienced wedding hair and makeup artist based in Essex, with over 20 years experience. 

Already having worked as a senior hair stylist for many years at top salons in London and Sydney, she then went on to train as a makeup artist at the Academy of Freelance Makeup in London’s Soho. She combined these two skills, to work as a freelance wedding hair and makeup artist, with a varied career including editorial fashion shoots, vintage themed hen parties, makeover studio work, music videos and runway shows including a few seasons at London Fashion Week. It was working at Goodwood Revival though, that developed a love and flair for classic vintage hair and this led on to many years making up beautiful brides. Clare is an expert at designing the perfect hair and makeup look. Whether it be a romantic up do with glamorous makeup, a boho braided look with flawless natural makeup or vintage 50’s waves with ruby red lips, you can rely on Clare to create a bespoke look just for you, leaving you stress free to relax and enjoy your big day.

Clare has experience and understanding of all skin types, colours and ages and will adapt her techniques for each individual client.

Clare uses the very best high-end makeup, natural skincare (a brand she co-founded) and pays close attention to detail, ensuring the bride to look her best close up as well as in the wedding photos.

Clare understands the stresses that some brides have in the lead up the wedding and the big day itself so her calm and friendly nature goes well to bring some harmony to the day and help you relax and just enjoy the special morning.

Clare is now based in Benfleet, Essex but also can travel to surrounding counties.

I asked Clare to do the hair and make-up at my wedding as she had worked on a friend’s wedding the year before when I was a bridesmaid, and we had all thought she was great.  Throughout the whole process she was a pleasure to work with.  We arranged a trial at my house a few months before the wedding and I was really pleased with the results but wanted to make a few tweaks nearer the time.  I decided that I wanted to wear a hairband and change my make-up slightly and Clare adapted completely.  She was a very calming influence on the day, but such good fun at the same time.  I was absolutely thrilled with the results – I felt like a million dollars walking down the aisle.  I would highly recommend Clare for both hair and make-up.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the amazing hair and make-up you did for my wedding! People were coming up to me and saying that my hair was a work of art and must have taken hours so you are now an true artist in their eyes 🙂
   Both the hair and make up lasted all night (yep, I was dancing until 2am, shoes still on, I was hobbling for day afterwards) and I completely forgot about topping up my lipstick and it still looks great in all the photos.
   Mum and the Bridesmaids looks great too - although my mum got her hat caught up in the sun visor in the car on the way over and the bridesmaid has to do a quick repair job for her, so funny, that'll teach her to have such enormous pokey things in her hat!

Having Claire recommend by an old friend, I was at first apprehensive as I had heard so much about how important it was to get the right make up and hair for your big day. Within seconds I had a brilliant feeling, she was warm, funny and above all else incredibly talented! With more makeup than I had seen in my entire life she transformed my face into something I had seen from a magazine, and my hair into what I had dreamed of! With a lovely open manner and extensive skill she transformed myself and my bridal party into a picture perfect group, which was a task and a half!!!
